SAP Cloud ALM is SAP's cloud-based application lifecycle management solution. It supports implementing and operating SAP solutions with capabilities for project delivery, requirements and test management, deployment, and operations such as monitoring and alerting. Included with many SAP cloud subscriptions, it is SAP's strategic successor to SAP Solution Manager for cloud-centric landscapes.
SAP Cloud ALM is a cloud-native solution for managing the lifecycle of SAP applications, covering both implementation and operations. On the implementation side, it supports project delivery aligned with the SAP Activate methodology, including requirements, tasks, process modeling, test management, and deployment coordination. This gives project teams a single, SAP-hosted place to plan and track an S/4HANA Cloud or other SAP rollout.
On the operations side, Cloud ALM provides monitoring, alerting, and analytics for running SAP landscapes, including health monitoring, integration and exception monitoring, and support for issue resolution. Because it is delivered as a cloud service maintained by SAP, customers avoid running and upgrading a separate on-premise tool, and they benefit from continuous updates as new capabilities are added.
SAP positions Cloud ALM as the strategic successor to SAP Solution Manager for cloud-centric and RISE landscapes, and it is included with many SAP cloud subscriptions. Organizations moving from Solution Manager need to plan which capabilities to adopt and how to set up monitoring and project processes. Configuring and operating Cloud ALM effectively is a natural extension of Basis and application-management responsibilities.
